The Greenlight Groove: ‘Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption’, ‘Tennis in the Face’ and More

May 24th, 2015 Wraithkal Feature

Many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions; there are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption (GL)

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption (@HeroCorey) [Kickstarter]
In the spirit of Quest for Glory and tabletop role-playing, Hero-U is both an adventure game and an RPG. It combines role-playing, exploration, turn-based combat, an immersive story, and rich character interactions to create a unique and fun game experience.

Tennis in the Face (GL)

Tennis in the Face (@10tonsltd)
Tennis in the Face is a hilarious physics based slapstick puzzle game. Slam furious tennis serves, bounce the ball around corners, knock out humorous adversaries and watch them tumble as hapless ragdolls. Trigger explosive chain reactions and watch the chaos unfold!

Glorch's Great Escape: Walking is for Chumps (GL)

Glorch’s Great Escape: Walking is for Chumps (@wg_phancock)
Glorch’s Great Escape is a challenging puzzle platformer where your only weapon is the almighty “Telenade.” The goal is to guide Glorch from his prison cell through the defenses of his captor’s space station, and discover why he was locked up in the first place.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
