The Greenlight Groove: ‘3x0ng’, ‘The Clans – Saga of the Twins’ and More

August 31st, 2014 Wraithkal Feature

It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!

Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, as long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).

Jim Power - Lost Dimension 3D

Jim Power – Lost Dimension 3D (@Pikointeractive)
Special Agent Jim Power-The supernatural alien, Vaprak, threatens to defeat our world which is the last planet that stands between him and a dimensional vortex. This vortex leads to a fifth and, up until now, lost dimension. If he succeeds in defeating us, he will destroy our world, opening a gateway for his kind as well as the strange mutating effect that this dimension has on all organic life forms.

REalM Walk of Soul

REalM Walk of Soul (@REalMWalkofSoul)
REalM presents us Iris, a 17 year old girl who, after a harsh sensation of falling in her dreams, wakes up in her room. Yet, something feels out of place, and she feels the need to get out of home. By doing so, Iris discovers that she has woken in a strange place, isolated, with only one tree, her house and a house very similar to hers.

Interloper (@MonogonGames)

Guns, Gore & Cannoli

Guns, Gore & Cannoli (@CrazyMonkeyStu)
Meet Vinnie Cannoli, a hard-boiled gangster who comes to Thugtown, to find a goodfella who’s gone missing. Nothing that can’t be solved with a kind word with the local gangsters though. Especially when you’re packing a Tommy gun and a double barrel shotgun to be a little more persuasive. There’s only one thing that’s holding him back… Every friggin’ lowlife in the city turned into a flesh-eating maniac. This is survival horror, wiseguy style… Capiche?

3x0ng

3x0ng (@dto1138)
The all-new 3x0ng features the return of 2x0ng’s colorful graphics and bouncing, brick-busting Squareball, in a mashup of 8-bit soccer/hockey/pong games (see the “Historical Inspirations” section below.) Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
