This time the spotlight will be shining on Ichi, a deceptively simple puzzle game. Let’s see if we can’t help it escape the cold emptiness of Greenlight limbo.
Ichi is an easy to play but challenging one button puzzle game. Don’t be deceived by the game simplistic look, it’s a braintwister for sure! Collect golden rings by rotating objects, using teleporters, breaking blocks and more. If that isn’t enough, the game includes a level editor that allows you to create your own levels and share them with anyone around the globe!
One button. That’s all you’re going to need, so strip your keyboard down to a single key. Done? Great. Now you too can play Ichi! Seriously though, don’t ruin your keyboard. Pick up Ichi (or its demo) and spin some triangles to… grab yellow circles with a ball?! Wow. Wait. Hold on a minute. Hmm… Oh. Nope, that is in fact the gist of it. But there’s a twist. Why wouldn’t there be? Anyway, see all those red triangles? Yeah, they all rotate at the press of a button. All of them. Simultaneously! Also, those jagged edges? Don’t fling the ball in their direction, for it will end badly. Stressed yet? Oh believe me, I’ve only just scratched the surface! And once you’ve cleared the levels Stolen Couch Games put into the game, be sure to check out the numerous ones fans have made. Plenty of longevity, that’s for sure.
So riddle me this, dear reader: why is Ichi still struggling to get through Greenlight? It’s been out for a while (since May, 2012), so lack of availability is certainly not the reason. If you haven’t done so already, might I recommend visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’, if you like what you see? Remember: your vote matters!
Ichi is available for Windows and Mac from the official website and Desura, priced at $3 / €3 / £2 and without any DRM.
