This time the spotlight will be shining on Charlotte Seeker, a score-based roguelike twin-stick shooter (yup, all that in one game). Let’s see if we can’t help it escape the cold emptiness of Greenlight limbo, eh?
Control Charlotte Seeker as she plunders the ship’s long lost technology, outwits its nearly impenetrable cybernetic defenses, and discovers its secrets. Featuring beautiful 16 bit-inspired lo-fi graphics, an action-packed original score, and gameplay influenced by The Binding of Isaac, A Link to the Past, and Resogun, Charlotte Seeker will test your skill, your reflexes, and your tenacity.
Action, plundering, and 16-bit visuals, eh? Well, there ya have it, folks. Give it up for Charlotte Seeker! Just kidding, although that was (almost) enough to sell me on the concept. I’m sure most are gonna need a bit more convincing though, so it’s a good thing that there’s both gameplay footage and a demo to boot. I mean, would ya look at those boss battles? And listen to that music. Listen to it! Ain’t often arena shooters manage to get both right, yet… this one does just that. I just hope there’ll be enough different environments, so as to avoid the same-y gameplay from getting stale, in spite of its rather interesting mechanics. But alas, time will tell.
So riddle me this, dear reader: why is Charlotte Seeker still struggling to get through Greenlight? It’s not out just yet, save for a demo. As such, might I recommend visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’, if you like what you see? Remember, your vote matters!
