Nobirdy is safe in the apartment in which Toripon takes place. Nobirdy. From your camera that is, because much like in real life, snapping shots of cute birds acting silly is the best way, by far, to increase your follower count on social media. Which is what we all want, right? Steady… aim… shoot!
If the above paragraph sounds a tad silly, well, that’s because it is. Toripon, while quite enjoyable and relaxing, is by no means a game that is begging to be taken seriously. Quite the opposite, what with its own take on social media called ‘Branch’ and all. You don’t really have to be an ornithologist – or even super interested in birds – to have a good time with it either. Unless you for some reason don’t enjoy games with a super silly premise. In which case, what’s wrong with you?
Explore a surprisingly spacious inner-city apartment filled with far too many pet birds doing their own silly things. Take photos and share them with your internet friends to spread the love around.
Seriously though, what at first glance may seem like a rather basic ‘take pictures of birds, increase follower count, rinse and repeat’ walking simulator-ish experience… turns into a genuine collect-a-thon, the moment you stumble upon the collections section. That’s right, every last tweeter you uncover is registered here, complete with what the developer accurately describes as “mildly interesting bird facts”, and the more you unlock/discover, the more are added to the world (or apartment, I should say). Oh, and with more than 40 feathered creatures to ‘collect’, your hide-and-seek skill will definitely be put to the test, as they’re bound to be hiding in the strangest of places, doing… really strange things. Birds. Gotta love ’em.
