Many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions; there are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!
Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, so long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).
Flawed Ones: Puppeteer (@InfoPuppeteer) [Indiegogo]
Our main character is a simple puppeteer who wanders between towns and cities to make a living. One day he performs a show about some poor children, who steal a delicious looking cake. But they are beaten down to death by guards. Surprisingly, what happens in his show, while he performs, happens right in front of the audience as well. At that day our main character, the puppeteer, gains the power of controlling people from his shadow theatre stage.
DNO Rasa’s Journey
Guide Rasa on her journey as she collects lost DNA, and breathes life back into the broken planet. DNO is a continuous side-scrolling platformer that shows remnants of the once great planet Lira. Unlock creatures that once dwelled here, through the use of a unique card collection system, and use power-ups to make your way through each level. The seed awakens, and an entirely new landscape lies before it…
Descent: Underground [Kickstarter]
Descent: Underground is a both a prequel to the Descent series and a modernization of the original game play. We’re staying true to the original flight mechanics, arcade style combat, and tightly twisting map design while taking it to the next level!
Exanima (@bare_mettle)
Explore, fight, survive and unravel mysteries in this unique and unforgiving 3D isometric RPG set in an original dark, low fantasy world. Exanima’s exceptional attention to detail and realistic simulation of all things provide a deeply immersive and dynamic gameplay experience.
Tesla: The Weather Man
Use weather control powers to stop Thomas Edison and his army of DC-powered robots! You play as Nikola Tesla after the triumph of alternating current has sent Edison into a violent rage. Use experimental technology to harness the power of lightning, flood valleys, freeze lakes, levitate boxes, and more in this historical parody puzzle platformer.
Tic-Toc-Tower (@SneakyMammoth)
Tic-Toc-Tower is a Platform game set in a mysterious and ever-changing tower where you will never know what to expect next. You have to be quick! You only have 10 seconds to complete each challenge!
Barrage (@BarrageGame)
Barrage is an unconventional hybrid of 3 genres. Think Starcraft meets Quake meets Worms. We call it an Artillery-RTS, with a bit of FPS thrown in. Gameplay involves raining destruction on your foes from afar, taking advantage of the gravity in outer space to hit your targets from every direction.
Invisible Apartment Zero (@BunnyJessican)
This is a visual novel about the growing up of a girl from the suburbs who dreams of a life in the big city. It’s also about a conspiracy, hacking, surveillance, but most importantly about friendship.
Fine Sweeper (@Phil_on_Games)
Fine Sweeper is a Minesweeper game with additional features such as a campaign mode, item drops and, of course, achievements. And I feel that even casual games like Fine Sweeper deserve to look and feel better than some clunky Windows UI from ‘95 with programmer art.
C. Kane (@bobsurlaw)
On his 18th birthday, a young Media Mogul begins a quest to save the world. The Earth is in ruins and the Dark Wizard Gettys rules from high atop the Dark Tower in the east. With his father’s sage advice safely in his mind, Charles recruits a band of brave warriors to cleanse the world of the Four Deadly Dungeon Masters. Along the way, he may learn the truth about what destroyed this once beautiful world.
