The Greenlight Groove: ‘Spiritus Realm’, ‘Chronology’ and More

It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!

As you go through the list below, keep in mind that these are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I decided to give my ‘yes’ vote (hence, recommendations). With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none of them end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by casting a vote? And while you’re at it, do provide their creators with feedback. Good and/or bad, I’m sure they’ll appreciate both, as long as it’s expressed properly.

Eidolon

Eidolon
Eidolon features a survival system (cold, hunger, exhaustion, age, wounds, illness) and some simple tools (bow, rod, campfire), but it is primarily a game about exploring a mysterious landscape and uncovering the stories of the people who came before. These stories, told through documents and memories gleaned from significant locations, are both historical (describing the broad arc of civilization) and intimate (describing the struggles and lives of specific characters and families). But piecing them together, making sense of them, is a challenge. The world of Eidolon is vast, rich, and difficult to traverse.

Travel back and forth in time, watch the world as it changes, and solve puzzles to proceed in a unique and beautiful universe, which mixes classical fantasy with mechanical retro futuristic elements. Anything is possible – think Day of the Tentacle meets Lost Vikings wrapped in beautiful painted graphics in the vein of Hayao Miyazaki and Shaun Tan. The past is industrial and pumping with mechanical steam energy. The future is an overgrown ruin and nature rules – everything has been destroyed but you have the power to change the course of time.

Blokade
This game pits two factions together in a combination of many different game types! Game play includes a combination of tower defense, bullet hell, and RTS(Real time strategy).

Spiritus Realm

Spiritus Realm is an open world adventure game set in a land that is not affected by time, a land ruled by energy beings in charge of keeping the balance of life and death in our mortal world. You play as king Theo-sos, who finds himself in this mysterious realm without knowing how he got there, just to realize he is now dead. Puzzles, quests and a beautiful world full of mysteries and wonders awaits to be explored. Go through a unique experience to find out why you are there and what your ultimate purpose in the balance of the cycle of life is.

Lili

Lili
On the mysterious island of Geos, Lili will meet a number of hilarious locals, explore beautiful environments, solve some puzzles, and even challenge an oppressive regime or two along her way. Lili uses an amusing “non-combat” system for dealing with enemies, and sorts out a few personal issues along the way.
