Many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions; there are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!
Starlight Vega (@StarlightVega) [Kickstarter]
“Starlight Vega” is a romantic comedy visual novel with GirlxGirl romances available on PC, Mac, and Linux. Six different endings are obtainable through your choices made throughout the game.
Golden Krone Hotel (@GoldenKroneGame)
Kill vampires with sunlight or become a vampire yourself and use stealth to sneak up on pesky humans. Humans are weak, but cast powerful magic. Vampires are tough and fast brawlers, but they depend on blood to regenerate health. To survive, you’ll need to strategically switch between vampire and human forms at the right times.
Wacky Wheels (@cascadiagames)
Wacky Wheels 2015 recreates and enhances the original experience, with HD “mode 7” graphics and all new tracks inspired by the original. The entire gang is back: Uno, Sultan, Morris, Peggles, Razer, Ringo, Blombo, Tigi plus introducing Hari the grizzly bear!
Incitement 3 (@NewRealityGames)
Sophorian civilization has been long looking for other sentient races in space in order to integrate them into their own society. However, that has not come without dissentions among the Sophorians, and sometimes very violent conflicts. In the recent past two huge attacks had occurred that threatened the whole civilization. The first one struck the government. The second one struck the Sophorian army. But was there a connection between those attacks, and will history repeat itself over and over until there’s no civilization left?
The Intergalactic Trashman (@GloveCat) [Kickstarter]
You play as Kepler, the main character, who is always accompanied by his loyal partner Xana, a personal assistant who helps him to communicate with everyone. They have a spaceship which will let them navigate through space, collect trash, explore planets… and all of this while they are dealing with enemies and solving puzzles.
OreLight (@orelightgame)
Everything in the world can be dug up, replaced or moved, so building anything from a small hut to an entire town is possible. The world is split into multiple areas; each area has its own procedurally generated world with dungeons, camps, forests, skeletons and a bunch of other OREsome stuff.
Pongo, the 3D Pogo Stick Action Platformer! [Kickstarter]
Grab your Pongo, a tool usable as either a pogo stick or a gun, to obliterate enemies and traverse the vast islands of Flubber. Balance rapid movement and high jumps with challenging combat, hordes of enemies, puzzles and traps at every turn.
Veer
In Veer, you navigate the world through solving logical puzzles. The core mechanic used to do this is relative teleporting: Jumping between relative positions to pylons in the levels. This, in combination with the ability to change the direction of gravity, are the corner pieces of the game, where everything revolves around and is created for the core experience of puzzle solving.
Front Wars (@frontwars)
Revive the great battles of the second world war in a tense campaign, or challenge a friend online. The two armies take turns building and commanding units on a grid-based map. The objective is to defeat the enemy army. There are two ways to defeat an opponent: destroy every one of the opponent’s units on the map or capture the opponent’s headquarters.
Unfinished – An Artist’s Lament (@Dust_Scratch)
Control Sketch, an unfinished sketch wishing to know who it was supposed to be. The only clue is to follow a pencil that continues to draw in the distance, followed by an artist’s voice as he struggles to complete his work. To reach new areas, Sketch will find left-over drawings to use for new abilities throughout the journey.
Thea: The Awakening (@MuHaGames)
Thea: The Awakening is a turn-based strategic survival game inspired by Slavic Mythology and Folklore and set in a Dark Fantasy world. As the world of Thea awakens from a century of Darkness, you are mankind’s last hope.
