It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time-consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!
Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, as long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).
Sentris: Unleash your Inner Musician
Sentris is an abstract puzzle game about playing music. Players are invited to create their own unique songs while solving simple color-matching puzzles about musical structure. Designed to be both a musical instrument and a challenging puzzle game, Sentris threatens to unleash the inner musician inside of everyone.
Coldfire Keep
An ancient power lies hidden, deep within Coldfire Keep, threatening the peaceful town of Newsettle. Now four friends must take it upon themselves to become heroes, and venture into the depths on a quest to secure their town’s future. Coldfire Keep is a traditional, old-school dungeon crawler, lovingly hand-crafted for fans of the genre.
Ossuary
Ossuary is a game where you talk to people in a dark and horrific place. It’s a funny satire about human nature and society. It’s a journey through a place of bones where virtues are sins and sins are inventory objects. It draws from the Discordian religious tradition and from the world’s collective mythology of death. There is something in the corner of your eye and you must escape this place. Solve dialogue-based puzzles but do not believe a word anyone says.
Prisonscape [Kickstarter]
Prisonscape is an adventure/RPG game about the harsh and brutal life in prison, made for PC, Mac, and Linux. The focus is on making the best of what you have. Gathering parts and crafting makeshift weapons, interacting with other prisoners (bartering, forming alliances, or making enemies) and learning the trade inside the prison. You can develop your character to be a tough fighter, charismatic manipulator, intelligent craftsman, or a slimy snake, and the choices you make affect the story.
Echoes of Eridu [Kickstarter]
Echoes of Eridu is an action-platformer built to play like Mega Man X and replay like your favorite roguelikes. The goal of this project is to produce a game that’s co-op friendly and highly replayable without sacrificing tight, satisfying action-platformer gameplay.
Grabbles [Kickstarter]
Grabbles uses a simple mechanic: players interact with the environment by pulling themselves and others around with sticky elastic arms. Each Grabble is equipped with two stretchy appendages that are controlled using the thumbsticks and fired using the triggers of any USB controller, or with right and left mouse clicks. The character is built from a system of connected springs and responds dynamically to players and the environment. This 2-D platformer has a play style that encourages flow control and quick reflexes. Grabbles is easy to pick up and hard to put down.
