[Update: Greenlit] Stuck In Greenlight Limbo: ‘Nanuleu’

[Update: Greenlit] Stuck In Greenlight Limbo: ‘Nanuleu’

This time the spotlight will be shining on Nanuleu, a minimalistic, yet quite tactical, affair. Let’s help it escape Greenlight limbo, eh?

Nanuleu is a strategy game where you take control of ancient magical trees that protect the land from an invading dark force. A destructive power is approaching, the ancient trees have sensed it and have awaken from the long sleep. Gather resources and grow trees to repel the invaders. Each tree has a different role to play in this battle to protect the land.

What a strange world this must be. A world in which trees are fearful military units, (hopefully) capable of thwarting “an invading dark force”. Trees, of all things. Let’s hope they don’t take as long to grow as those here on Earth, eh? All jokes aside though, there’s something undeniably appealing about the minimalistic design of Nanuleu, about how everything’s so easily distinguishable. Oh and the whole strategic aspect -- gathering resources, managing supply lines, proper placement of each unit (tree) – rather enticing. Almost makes ya pity the opposing force, because… Mother Nature looks ready to kick some serious ass.

Riddle me this, dear reader: why do YOU think Nanuleu hasn’t made it through Greenlight? The game should be out this very month, so how about visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’ if you like what you see? Remember: your vote could make all the difference!

Wraithkal

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
