This time the spotlight will be shining on Dawn of the Plow, a silly arcade-y snowplow simulator with… power-ups! Let’s see if we can’t help it escape the cold emptiness of Greenlight limbo, eh?
You are the new plow on the block, and today is your day. How many cars can you shepherd home before achieving grounds for termination?
How many cars… wait, what? Fairly certain “grounds for termination” is not something most people would strive to achieve, as opposed to, you know, try to avoid. Then again, this is a video game and a rather silly one at that. Snow is constantly falling and unless you do something about it, roads will be blocked, drivers will be pissed, and your approval rating will drop. Drop until you’re… FIRED! Oh and crashing will create a similar scenario, so keep your eyes on the road and be sure to grab those power-ups; chances are you’ll need the boost they provide. Now, the one negative regarding the PC version (note: version, not port) compared to its mobile (iOS, Android) counterparts, is the lack of online leaderboards. But as its creator puts it, “that’s where Steam comes in!”, so let’s make it happen.
So riddle me this, dear reader: why is Dawn of the Plow still struggling to get through Greenlight? It’s been out for a while (since January 2014), so availability certainly can’t be the reason. Might I recommend visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’, if you like what you see? Remember, your vote matters!
Dawn of the Plow is available for Windows, Mac, Linux from Itch.io ($1.99), IndieGameStand ($1.99) and via. Humble Widget ($1.99), without any kind of DRM.
