[Update: Greenlit] Stuck In Greenlight Limbo: ‘Cube27’

[Update: Greenlit] Stuck In Greenlight Limbo: ‘Cube27’

This time the spotlight will be shining on Cube27, a brain-teasing cube-matcher with… power-ups! What say we help it escape the cold emptiness of Greenlight limbo?

Cube27 is a simple, yet challenging 3D matching game where the player’s goal is to match pairs of cubes before time runs out. Cube27 includes securities, powerups, several challenge modes, and different texture packs (including one for colorblind). Cube27 is a fast pased puzzle game that will leave you wanting for more!

Yay, puzzles! Oh wait, I’m terrible at those. Well, either way, Cube27 does look interesting, as there’s definitely more to it than basic matching: power-ups let ya freeze time and blow up large areas, for starters, while obstacles come in the flavor of viral infections that spread quickly, and of course there’s also your typical solids, which are only removable through the use of explosives. Oh, and if you feel like ‘cheating’, the game does feature a Find a Match power-up as well. Just in case, ya know? So blow cubes up, match them on your own, or… cheat! What’s not to like, really?

So riddle me this, dear reader: why is Cube27 still struggling to get through Greenlight? It’s been out for a while after all, and there’s even a demo to boot. As such, how about visiting its Greenlight page and handing over a ‘yes’, if you like what you see? Remember, your vote matters!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
