Take on the Neinzul as a a Necromancer in ‘AI War 2: The Neinzul Abyss’

Take on the Neinzul as a a Necromancer in ‘AI War 2: The Neinzul Abyss’

So, that thing about how you shouldn’t stare too long into the abyss? Yeah, that applies to the Neinzul as well… because then you’ll be devoured. No joke, these things pose a serious threat, and chances are you’ll need more than a little tactical prowess to best this upcoming AI War 2 expansion, The Neinzul Abyss. But hey, it does also enable you to play as a necromancer. Long live the dead?

After The Spire Rises (remember?) and Zenith Onslaught (yup, that too), AI War 2 is already getting mighty big. Too big? No such thing! I mean, The Neinzul Abyss adds a lot, but it’s all good stuff: Neinzul Sappers, Elderlings, Custodians, Migrant Fleets, Wild Hives – and those are just the new NPC factions.

How about leaving the Human Empire behind for once, taking on the role of a Necromancer instead, with a fleet that feasts on the living from other universes? Sounds pretty darn… messy. There’s really no way around that. Oh, and the Necromancer can be utilized as an ally in single and multiplayer as well, which should help mix things up quite a bit.

New map types, AI types, an alternative win condition, and… well, there’s a lot more, and I’m nowhere near experienced enough in the art of AI War 2 to properly gush over most of it. What, you’re (relatively) new to the game, maybe even genre as a whole, too? Then be sure to check out the video below – an introduction of sorts from one of the developers. Groovy stuff.

AI War 2: The Neinzul Abyss will be hitting Steam, come April 22, 2022.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
