The Greenlight Groove: DUELYST, Dead Synchronicity, Lumo and MUCH More!

Greenlight

It’s a fact that many Steam users don’t check or even notice most Greenlight additions. There are simply too many, making it rather time consuming. Hoping to alleviate this problem somewhat, I bring you The Greenlight Groove, featuring my recommendations from the past week!

Keep in mind that those listed below are by no means the only new arrivals, simply those I gave my ‘yes’ vote. With that in mind, would you kindly help make sure none end up as a potential Stuck In Greenlight Limbo candidate, by voting? Oh and do provide their creators with feedback. I’m sure they’ll appreciate anything, as long as it’s expressed properly (please, be nice).

The Darkness Ascends

The Darkness Ascends
Your name is Lex, and you are a young boy. You live with your little sister, Natalie. You used to have a mom and a dad. You know exactly what happened to them. But, a certain someone doesn’t. You go out and play with some of your friends, a little game of hide and seek, with you being the finder. To the mind of a child, the best place to hide is the farthest. Natalie enters the one place that she should not have gone, and Lex journeys to the haunted mansion, to find his sister.

A Druid's Duel

A Druid’s Duel – Kickstarter
Duel your way across the vast Realm of Six Seasons, striving to dominate the land. But beware! The stakes are raised with every parcel gained or lost. Featuring an engaging single-player campaign and tactical battles for up to four players, A Druid’s Duel is ever-changing and fraught with exciting challenges; much like Nature herself.

Don't Move

Don’t Move
Don’t Move is a game about ninjas, failure, ludonarrative dissonance, and player investment manipulation. The game starts simply: move left or right. But as you try — and as you fail — to move, you unlock more of the game’s mechanisms. With each new element comes new challenges and more rewards!

Let There Be Life

Let There Be Life
Let There Be Life is a relaxing, zen puzzle-like game that takes players to an enchanted world where they create magical trees and interact with playful wildlife. The trees want to grow big and beautiful, but they don’t want to harm any flowers with shadows caused by their leaves. Winner of Edge-Online’s Get Into Games Challenge 2013, Let There Be Life is a watercolor painting come to life. It offers the player a calm, peaceful environment to unwind, experiment and let creativity flow. Perfect for anyone who is -or ever was- a child!

Standpoint

Standpoint – Kickstarter
The game tells an abstract story about grief. As players progress through the game, the voice of the Narrator accompanies them, often providing help and hinting towards the true meaning of the world. The player is tasked with discovering certain characters and how thier experiences intertwine.

Molecats

Molecats
Molecats are sort of cat-mole hybrids. They are simpletons who like mushrooms, marching and go on adventures! They usually dig into nearby caves to gather delicious ‘shrooms and shiny relics, but mostly get lost along the way. Your goal here is to guide Molecats through the caves by taking control of the environment and changing the course they follow. Along the way Molecats will face lots of dangerous traps, spooky monsters and tricky challenges and meet a whole bunch of strange but interesting creatures.

Dead Synchronicity

Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow comes TodayKickstarter
A terrible pandemic is turning all of humanity into the Dissolved – the sick whose deliria provide them with supernatural cognitive powers… but also steer them towards a gruesome death. The root of this illness seems to be the Great Wave, an inexplicable chain of natural disasters that destroyed all energy sources and communications and plunged the world into a chaos ruthlessly controlled by both the authorities and the army alike. So the player will have to help Michael, a man with no past, recover his identity and decode the events that brought the world to the edge of collapse. Because, if Michael doesn’t hurry, he won’t be able to avoid the impending moment of dead synchronicity… when Time itself dissolves.

Smugglers 5: Invasion

Smugglers 5: Invasion
Smugglers 5: Invasion starts where the original game ended. After years of civil war, the Federation finally emerged victorious, crushing all rebellion. The galaxy looked forward to a period of peace, a chance to repair the damage of a long and bitter war. Then came the Jalkath, a new alien race looking much like the tigers of Old Earth. Their attacks were swift and brutal and they subjugated entire systems before the Federation even knew what was happening.

Seafarer

Seafarer
Seafarer is best described as an old school RPG, but focused on exploration and making a name for yourself. Catch fish and collect treasure to earn gold, and use that gold to upgrade your ship to explore the world. Apparently he has no choice but to accept to play the game and so he does. At first all he has to do is to leave the skinner-box made to test his skills. Pick some objects, drop them on a processing machine, grab the battery generated by the components and put that battery over a energy slot to open the door. All that just to go to the next skinner-box chamber. Ok for a while, but when chamber after chamber each challenge becomes harder and military threatenings shows up everywhere… Bill understands he may never leave that place alive…
