Welcome to the first day of your new job, sorting, stacking, delivering, and above all else, managing any manner of products at Wilmot’s Warehouse. Hope you’ve got a good memory and/or a system for organizing items for quick retrieval because once the mighty service hatch opens, it’s only a matter of time before those waiting for their order(s) run out of patience. At which point… no bonus for you! And you better believe losing out will impact your workload negatively.
A first glance, Wilmot’s Warehouse looks easy and simple, although I highly doubt that is actually the case. At least, once the game gets going with more and more products joining the fray, all of which have to be put where they can be easily reacquired, should someone request one or more of said items. Guess it’s rather fortunate then that you don’t have to also learn how to operate a forklift, slowly moving about a massive warehouse, then. Instead, you play as this odd-looking face… block… thing known as Wilmot, dashing all over the two-dimensional playing field, carrying more items than any human could possibly manage. Simple enough.
How you arrange them all is entirely up to you – organize by color, type, the Dewey Decimal System, or some wild format that only you understand – it’s all good!
Except you’re constantly on the clock, whether it be the service phase, during which products are to be delivered to the top of the screen, or stock take, where you get to show off your skill at sorting. Just make sure you remember where everything is placed and watch out for, well, you’ll see. Oh, and the bonus mentioned earlier? That’ll net you a bunch of coveted Performance Stars, to be spent on “all manner of labor-saving upgrades”. Sounds pretty important if you ask me, so do make sure you deliver the requested goods in a timely manner. If you can find them that is, amidst the no less than five hundred(!) possible products. Come to think of it, maybe you should consider getting into the multiplayer groove with some local co-op to help manage Wilmot’s Warehouse.
Wilmot’s Warehouse is available on Steam and Switch, carrying a $14.99 price tag.
