Game jams seem to be kicking off left and right in 2021, and soon, Team Toadhouse will be joining the fray with their month-long Toadhouse Visual Novel Game Jam 2021. That’s right: a full 30 days because crunch is terrible. Unless it’s some delicious crunchy candy that’s being consumed. Which game development crunch most certainly isn’t. Ain’t delicious either.
As I’m sure everyone’s busy celebrating Pride Month and/or simply too busy enjoying the arrival of summer to read walls of text about an upcoming game jam… let’s keep this as simple as possible.
When? The month of July, starting upon the reveal of its theme on July 1st at 00:01 US Eastern. Solo? Team? Both? Yeah. Both. Sure. You silly goose. Workshops? You bet ya: “game development topics featuring industry professionals on Twitch“.
Speaking of stuff related to the jam that isn’t downright part of the jam (wait, what?): after the start of Toadhouse Visual Novel Game Jam 2021, voice and chat channels will be open on the Team Toadhouse Discord for participants to, you know, chill, team up, and poke staff, should the need arise. Discord? Oh you know, chat client. Entirely optional for the jam. I think. Probably wouldn’t hurt to at least idle over there though, read the Code of Conduct listed under rules-and-faq.
That should just about do it. Screenshot? Oh, that’s from the amazing Ren’Py‘s equally amazing tutorial.
