Mystery Visual Novel ‘Detective Rosie Morgan: Murder on the River Thames’ Blends Romance With Crime Fighting Across London

Mystery Visual Novel ‘Detective Rosie Morgan: Murder on the River Thames’ Blends Romance With Crime Fighting Across London

Meet Rosie Morgan, DI (Detective Investigator) for London’s Metropolitan Police, and apparently, among the best in her field. A claim that will likely be tested on her current case, one that has all of Britain holding its breath, hoping that this murder mystery will be solved real soon. But wait, what about Rosie’s single status? Crime-fighting is important, but in Detective Rosie Morgan: Murder on the River Thames, there’s always time for romance. Always.

By which I mean that this here visual novel is in fact part Yuri dating sim, meaning your choices throughout the story will not only determine which of the multiple endings you get but also shape Rosie’s attempts at wooing London’s lovely ladies. What’s the point in catching a murderer if your love life has to be put on hold, after all?

Speaking of which, while I am a tad puzzled at the (slightly) warped(?) background design in screenshots on the store page, the character art does look quite nice, the current speaker clearly emphasized and all. Music? Ah, players will be treated to a “modern fusion jazz and chill soundtrack” here, as they go about navigating the 60,000+ word story of passion, murder, and romance. Preferably in a different order.

Who’s ready to bust some crooks as London’s finest and flirt with London’s finest (trust me, it makes sense)?

Detective Rosie Morgan: Murder on the River Thames is available on Steam and itch.io, carrying a $5.99 price tag.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
