CHRISTMAS IS HE– wha? Not yet? Darn it! Even so, it’s not far off anymore, as we’ve reached the glorious month of December! As such… it’s time for me to examine June’s Steam additions, highlighting those with criminally low review counts.
Brief reminder: no Early Access, no Virtual Reality – what else? Oh, and less than 10 user reviews on the day I go through the lot (which is also when this article is published). May seem odd, but if your game hasn’t broken into double-digit review numbers after six months, something’s wrong. Somewhere. Anyway, my pick(s) are as follows…
A Room Beyond ($7.99)
Unfamiliarity can be a powerful thing when trying to create a chilling atmosphere, which is exactly what seems to be the focus of this one, what with its inspiration drawing heavily upon the likes of H.P. Lovecraft and Alone in the Dark… ya know? Prepare to be spooked but good.
Gray Skies, Dark Waters ($6.99)
More mystery, drama and… a parent vanished without a trace; that of a seventeen-year-old girl, no less! What’s not to like, with a setup like that? Sounds like a tale full of intrigue and fun, perhaps even a hint of the supernatural?
Lethis – Daring Discoverers ($12.99)
This one had me the second I read ‘choose your own adventure’. Oh, and I get to travel to bizarre planets too, according to the game’s description. What a mix!
ESCAPE Room: Reality ($6.99)
Wrapping up June’s blend of weird and crazy is… an escape room! And not of the safe kind either. No, this is a genuinely dangerous one, everyone a stranger, hints coming from the strangest places, and all that good stuff. Or it will be at least, once ya escape. I mean, if. All bets are off.
