Tower construction is a lot of work. So much balancing work to ensure the final product doesn’t tumble and crash, and on top of that, there are the tools. Ah, the tools. It would be quite lovely if something revolutionary were to happen in that field. Something like, oh I don’t know, the psychic helmet Rockit – Master Stacker and Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks) protagonist – has. Now that’d be something! Then again, real-life towers also don’t have to deal with ghosts and dragons.
That said, I am fairly certain this one can still not be categorized as a ‘tower defense’ (even if you will be defending your creation against all kinds of “outlandish hazards”). Oh, and apparently… you get to tear it down afterwards with a wrecking ball. Because hey, why not? You built it, so obviously, you should be the one to smash it! Yeah! SMASH IT! Show that tower of magnets, works of art and aquariums who’s boss! But deconstruction must be prefaced by construction, and just to make things ever so slightly more complicated, from time to time, you’ll be building on the likes of quicksand and/or a giant spring scale. Bet tower construction in the real world doesn’t seem so daunting now, eh?
Play as the Master Stacker, Rockit, who must use her psychic helmet to clean up the colorful bricks falling all over her madcap world.
Seriously though, those zany building blocks I mentioned are just some of what you’ll be working with, as depicted by the trailer below, while you attempt to clear the 36 stages that make up the story mode of Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks). Alternatively, how about some co-op or versus action? Grab a friend and either work together or see who’s best in a heated PvP battle as the tower(s) grow ever higher. And then bring everything down with that aforementioned wrecking ball. Kaboom!
Stacks On Stacks (On Stacks) is available on Steam ($12.99) and Stadia.
