‘Sela The Space Pirate’ Awaits Bullet Hell Fans on iOS

‘Sela The Space Pirate’ Awaits Bullet Hell Fans on iOS

While there is no shortage of bullet hell (or SHMUP) titles on the iOS platform, Sela The Space Pirate still managed to catch my interest. Maybe it’s the visual style or the insane amount of coins that litter the screen, which is used to purchase upgrades. Whatever the reason, who doesn’t enjoy doing some coin collecting while dodging a rain of bullets from enemy ships? In Sela’s case, it’s not just a game – it’s a way of life.

Being a space pirate and all, Sela has only one goal in life and that is to get rich. Aided by Botte, her loyal robot, of course, because every space pirate needs a sidekick. There is just one tiny problem: the Space Bunnies Police Force, but obviously, Sela won’t let that stand in her way. I swear, she must be completely insane to take on space cops; either that or is it a stroke of genius? Whichever it is, in Sela The Space Pirate you’ll be blasting through 30 action-packed levels, armed to the teeth with a variety of weapons and accompanied by a rockin’ soundtrack. All in all, it sounds like an interesting game and one that I’m eager to get my hands on. I feel kinda bad for those who oppose Sela though…

Those interested can jump into the space shoes of Sela by spending $1.99 (dollars, not space coins) on iTunes. Oh, and it’s a universal app, which is always a nice touch.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
