Make Something That Makes Something During ‘PROCJAM 2020’

Make Something That Makes Something During ‘PROCJAM 2020’

Game jams. Mostly these things are, as indicated by the name, about games. About making them, and over a relatively short period of time, no less. PROCJAM 2020, on the other hand, is about… well, making something that makes something, and it doesn’t have to be a game either, as long as it is a piece of software. Intriguing.

Another thing that makes PROCJAM 2020 different from most other game jams is that its dates aren’t set in stone, so much as put there to tell ya when other people are more likely to be jamming… because socializing! No? Alright then. Well, from December 4th all the way through the 14th is still the time to keep a watchful eye on social media to get a glimpse at what other participants are making, courtesy of the #procjam hashtag. Hint hint.

Oh, and here’s a neat little surprise: this year, they’re actually teaming up with 7DFPS! So… get ready to make something that makes something with something and something. Or something. Don’t forget to also submit your creation to 7DFPS either; provided it’s, you know, a first person game. Rather important little tidbit, that.

Last but not least, videos, tutorials, free art, and Seeds (community-written zine) are all at your disposal. So, you know, go nuts. No, really: go absolutely bananas during PROCJAM 2020 and create something truly awesome. Something that… makes something… else!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
