Charles Quill might not be up there with the likes of Sherlock Holmes or Phoenix Wright, but the protagonist in Paws of Coal is a scholar on a mission, determined to solve the recent mysterious outbreak in Rabbit Burrows; a task guaranteed to involve a fair amount of detective work, connecting evidence by way of science and all that good stuff.
Unsurprisingly, the miners in Rabbit Burrows have gone on strike, unwilling to return to work until some semblance of normalcy has been restored. This makes perfect sense and is certainly acceptable – except the foreman will have none of it and is determined to shut down the strike, outbreak or not. Does he have information that everyone else is somehow lacking, or is his justification simply that the show must go on, production must continue, money must be made, and so on? Only one way to find out, and if Charles Quill has to burn the midnight oil to get to the bottom of this, then so be it.
When you’re sure you got it right – submit the report, and… hope for the best. Good luck!
As you have likely spotted in the above screenshot, a lot of time in Paws of Coal is spent talking to a variety of characters, but that’s not the only source of information as clues also lay scattered throughout the environment and… well, some note-taking might also come in handy. Once you’re ready, it’s time to – quite literally – connect the dots and hope for the best. There are multiple endings and the wrong deductions or perhaps even simply one wrong decision can have disastrous results.
So be sure to double- and triple-check before submitting your report, as a lot is on the line in this tale set in the larger Trip the Ark Fantastic universe.
