Over the years, the stunts pulled off by pro skateboarders have been compared at least a handful of times to something akin to magic. In (our) reality, however, no matter how awesome it may look, there’s nothing supernatural about the sport. But what if there was? Meet Sunset Isles’ newest resident, WizKid, a skater with the ability to spawn ramps from thin air and defy gravity. How? By way of a… Magic Trick.
Speaking of the pros, right off the bat, players will be training at the skate park with the one and only, Tony the Hawk. Yup. I see what you did there. Clever. Anyway, this means that while WizKid’s magic does boost their overall performance and enables them to get creative with where to go next during a big combo… the fundamental stuff still needs some fine-tuning, for lack of a better term.
Once Wizkid is ready to call it a day, the player can skate back home to the suburbs and celebrate with all their new friends.
There’s nothing wrong with that though, and I’m sure sooner rather than later, they’ll have mastered the art; making lots of new friends in the process – after helping them solve a variety of problems, that is. Problems like, you know, helping a cat get down from a tree and racing a running rabbit, perhaps even grinding across a rainbow. Simple stuff, and yet, since it lets WizKid do what they do best – which is to explore and help those in need without ever leaving their board – well, no reason not to, really. So fire up a Magic Trick or two, and get this skating party started!
Magic Trick is available on Steam and itch.io, carrying a $3.99 price tag.
Update: The announcement trailer was replaced with the launch version.
