As foretold by the prophecy (and my article on its beta release), today, October 18, marks the release of The Last Door Chapter 3; for those who already have, or are willing to pay, that is. It isn’t too late to join the club!
Following the trend set by Memories (Chapter 2), the availability of Chapter 3 means that the previous chapter is now free-to-play. There’s no excuse anymore if you haven’t familiarized yourself with this haunting point ‘n’ click series yet. Can’t beat the price of $0, after all! Then after you’ve finished The Letter and Memories, chances are you’ll want to see what happens next, at which point you have two options: either pay €15 for membership (which lets you access new chapters upon release) or donate whatever you want to play chapter 3 right now.
In this next installment, Jeremy Devitt, our protagonist, suddenly wakes up to find himself in a strange city, with no knowledge of how he even got there! With more questions than answers, players are in for an eerie time on these streets, as they attempt to figure out what is going on, and perhaps more importantly, of all places, why here? What’s so special about this town?
In September 2013 we already had nearly 1 million players counting both chapters and we decided to go on with the development of “The Four Witnesses”, our third instalment which is scheduled to be released by October 18th, 2013.
That’s a lot of spooked horror fans! But not as many as I’d have hoped, honestly, so let’s make that number go above 1 million, eh? It’s not like you have to pay a single cent to play the first two chapters after all. Just register on http://thelastdoor.com, turn off the lights, put on some headphones and get ready to experience the first two chapters of this uncanny tale. You won’t be able to play the third chapter until March 2014 unless you donate though, but surely pay-what-you-want isn’t asking for too much?
