An interesting batch, this latest Debut bundle from Indie Royale. While Christmas may be over, there’s still New Year’s Eve… and why not wrap up 2013 by playing some quality indie games? I promise ya, they won’t be this cheap again!
Seven games, one mystery title, no Steam keys because, well, didn’t you catch the Greenlight bit? Desura keys for every last one, however, and a few for Mac fans, with but a single game for Linux users. Wow. Anyway, as always, the price drops whenever someone pays more than the average, although in this case, the starting price is ridiculously low for some reason. xyce’s papillons album is the musical addition, which will be included by forking over at least $5 at the checkout counter. Now, let’s check out the debutants and… REMEMBER TO VOTE! “But… holidays!” is not a valid excuse.
Murder in the Hotel Lisbon (Windows, Mac, Linux – Desura) Greenlight
A strange murder has occurred in the Hotel Lisbon, a man committed suicide with 14 stabs to the back while at the same time he peacefully drank his coffee. This case with contradictory facts was too complex for Policeman Garcia to solve, so he decided to hire the only detective duo in town capable of solving it: the mythical Detective Case and the unmistakable Clown Bot.
Claustrophobia: The Downward Struggle (Windows – Desura) Greenlight
Claustrophobia: The Downward Struggle is an indie RPG roguelike, with a retro graphic style and a terrible sense of humour. The game takes place in a series of ever descending randomly generated dungeon floors, packed full of monsters to slaughter and loot to pillage. The game plays like a traditional roguelike, but with a clean UI, a slick, action orientated combat system, and a massive range of enemy types, skills, gear and room designs.
Hero Siege (Windows – Desura) Greenlight
The kingdom of Tarethiel has been taken over by creatures of hell. Your mission is to cleanse the kingdom and free the citizen from the agonizing wrath of the demon child called Damien. Choose a class and start your survival journey.

Love, By Fred Wood (Windows, Mac – Desura) Greenlight
Love+ is a minimalistic platforming game with a retro aesthetic and a focus on a challenging but not unfair difficulty. It has an innovative respawn system 11 levels, 12 track soundtrack, a grading system, and a unique custom level creation feature. Users are able to create images (both static and animated) that can be imported as level geometry, hazards, or interactive elements. Creators can craft full 10-level campaigns with customizeable screens and intros, and share them with one another.
One Way Heroics (Windows – Desura) Greenlight
In One Way Heroics, you take on the role of an intrepid adventurer who must travel across the land and face the Demon Lord before a mysterious darkness engulfs everything. Darkness always approaches from the left, and with each movement, attack and action you take, the darkness creeps ever closer. Forced to run right, you’ll encounter any number of monsters, allies, thieves and shops on your desperate journey to stop the end of everything.
Where Angels Cry (Windows – Desura) Greenlight
Strange events are taking place in an isolated medieval monastery, set high in the Alps. Monks are vanishing without a trace, mysterious persons are being sighted running through the dark passages of the monastery in the still of the night, Templars have now been assigned to stand watch and there are even reports that a statue in the center of the village is crying the tears of blood!
Don’t forget that Indie Royale’s The Debut 8 Bundle will only be available for a little less than eight days, so don’t wait too long; unless you enjoy paying full price for indie games, that is. Nothing wrong with that, but since a bundle has been made available and all – might as well, right?
