Transform and Twin-stick Shoot to the Top of the Tower in ‘DRACOMATON’

August 16th, 2023 Wraithkal News

So, the best thing about robots? They transform! Wait. Hear me out. The protagonist in DRACOMATON actually does transform, its entire arsenal changing – even in the middle of combat. While this might sound slightly overpowered, well, you’re likely going to need every advantage you can get in this top-down roguelike bullet hell.

The pace? Fast. The tower? Tall. The opposition? Relentless! Hope you’re ready for a challenge as you fight your way to the top, messing around with no less than seven unique forms and well over thirty “build-influencing” items to adapt to each and every situation as new threats appear. Oh, also, dragons. Dragons and a factory of some sort. I’m sure it’ll all make perfect sense once you get into the thick of things. Especially the running and gunning.

And then, they awaken

If the trailer below is any indication, visibility might become an issue as your arsenal expands and the screen gets absolutely littered with bullets, chaos, carnage, and all kinds of mayhem. Although at that point, hopefully, survival has become second nature, rather than something to actually, you know, worry about or even focus on. Maybe. I am slightly concerned about “Reggie the Run-killer”. Can’t quite put my finger on why though.

Now, who’s ready to transform and kick some you-know-what, while ascending a tower and uncovering an ancient mystery or two along the way? DRACOMATON awaits any and all who think they might have what it takes!

DRACOMATON is available on Steam for $4.99.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
