At this point, I’d say London’s Metropolitan Police (aka. Scotland Yard) really should be paying Detective Rosie Morgan more than whatever she’s currently getting, having now starred in several games (remember Murder on the River Thames?). But that’s a topic for another time, as a murder most foul has been committed and at a dinner party no less! A mystery awaits in in Detective Rosie Morgan: Death at a Dinner Party; one that’s almost too likely to blur the lines between business and pleasure.
Would that be such a bad thing though? I’m sure our protagonist can multi-task, dedicating enough time and effort to crack the case wide open while also flirting with… well, one of several lovely ladies, as it turns out! Now, while a grand old mystery undeniably goes well with a smooth jazz soundtrack, you know what also does? Romance, that’s what, and across its 50,000+ word count as well as multiple endings, there’s certainly room for both in this visual novel.
Follow in the steps of Detective Rosie Morgan, one of the finest and brightest detectives at London’s Metropolitan Police (Scotland Yard) as she investigates the mysterious death of a famous Human Rights Lawyer and her luxurious Sevenoaks Estate.
It seems a little puzzle-solving is also on the menu, with the promise of “detective analytical gameplay”. In other words, players will be tasked with more than simply reading while enjoying the lovely visuals, which is quite alright. The protagonist is after all a detective working a case, so why not feature some… you know, detective work? The game is afoot!
Detective Rosie Morgan: Death at a Dinner Party is available on Steam and itch.io, for $6.99.
