‘Dead Cells: The Queen and the Sea’ Launch Wraps up the DLC Trilogy

It’s January 6 in this here year 2022, which means the latest piece of Dead Cells DLC, The Quen and the Sea, is upon us (although regular readers already knew about this). Glorious times await both new players and seasoned veterans, as ‘more of (just about) everything’ applies to this particular expansion, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So to recap real quick: a throwable shark, a pirate hook, a trident, anchor-throwing shrimps… yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate’s life for me? Yeah. Maybe not. Plenty of fresh opportunities for some serious you-know-what-kicking though, across murky waters, a shipwreck, a lighthouse, and… ah yes, an old foe. Intriguing stuff, really.

Fight through the horrors of the Infested Shipwreck to reach the Lighthouse, then scale the soaring tower in a race against rising flames and angry guardians to reach the Crown, where an old foe awaits you…

Its two new biomes even come with unique gameplay elements, in that one features a brand new kind of challenge while the other… well, it’s a bit of a treasure hunt. Groovy? You bet ya, and at the end of this long and difficult journey awaits… drumroll… The Crown! Oh, and a new ending. If you’re as good as you think you are. Feel like testing that theory? Well, The Queen and the Sea is available on every major platform, so… good luck. You’re gonna need it.

Dead Cells: The Queen and the Sea on Steam, GOG.com, Humble, Switch, Xbox One/Series X, and PlayStation 4.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
