I’ve played many games over the years that involved protecting precious cargo from thieves, but Baumkuchen? That’s a new one. Given its undeniable deliciousness, however, you better believe I’ll be more than happy to thwart every last one of these Cake Invaders with my pixellated minigun. No one messes with my precious… Baumkuchen. No one.
One crew member won’t last long against that relentless onslaught though, so precision shooting and gunning down every rainbow-coloured Baumkuchen (wait, what?) that appears is absolutely vital. Not only will these expand your crew, which is bound to be super useful, but exploding bullets and other fun odd-evening additions might also come from them. I’m aware that blasting a Baumkuchen instead of eating it might seem like a waste, but keep in mind that it is in fact glowing, and not just in a single colour either. Not really sure I’d recommend eating anything that glows. Not even Baumkuchen.
The Japanese just love their famous German-inspired Baumkuchen cakes, and hungry invaders from across the universe have discovered these delicious treats too!
At some point, the sheer number of Cake Invaders will prove too much, their demise inevitable. But history will never forget what they achieved, how valiantly they fought, or how many points they racked up, immortalized on the global leaderboard. Nom nom nom…
Cake Invaders is available on Steam, carrying a $4.99 price tag.
