It’s almost time to jam with the intent of creating a video game featuring two male characters in a romantic relationship. Actually, ‘almost’ might be a bit of a stretch, seeing how Boys’ Love Visual Novel Game Jam – 2023 (what a mouthful) doesn’t begin until – well, the year’s right there in the title. So for now, what say we go over the specifics of IntStories’ upcoming game jam?
First and foremost, as already noted, your game must feature a romantic relationship between two male characters. Doesn’t have to be a dating sim, but it must be a visual novel. Theme? Anything you want. Setting? Same. Space, the past, the future, the present, somewhere on Earth, a fictional locale – anything goes. Oh, right: don’t forget about content warnings, where applicable, and your submission “must be free from the time it’s submitted, up until the end of June 2023”. Seems perfectly reasonable, the lot.
Why does the Jam last so long?
– I wanted to give developers time to create a novel as good as they can!
Now, I’m sure some of you are wondering, and yes, NSFW content is allowed – provided you remember to tag your submission accordingly. Same deal as with content warnings, really: be as transparent as possible, so as to avoid unwelcome surprises. Hmm… what else? Ah yes, demos are allowed, and if you’re feeling even the tiniest bit social and/or are looking for jam teammates, why not stop by Discord?
