Dating apps. Even at the best of times, they can be the most random thing. I suppose that means Francis essentially won the lottery, finding herself matched with one-half of the electronic pop duo DRYDEN. Somehow, the fact that he does not have a head never came up until they met, but… perhaps there’s a chance Rai’s is the head well lost?
Now, just to clarify: as far as I’m aware, the head well lost is not a horror story, although in some way, Rai could be seen as the classic Headless Horseman character; only, without his horse. He is, after all, a Dullahan, a legendary creature who is commonly depicted as a headless rider on a black horse. But still, this is a tale of romance, not horror.
On that note, much like Rai, Francis has her emotional baggage, further potentially complicating things between the two – despite everything seemingly going their way, against the odds. But as you can probably imagine, a lot can happen throughout 140,000 words and in each of the 9 different endings, accompanied by a “heavily electronic, hip-hop soundtrack”. Makes sense, given one of the two leads, you know?
There are also cats. Three, in fact, and progressing the story unlocks additional scenes from their PoV, which is bound to be just wonderful, feline creatures being what they are and all. As for where Francis and Rai, not to mention the cats, will end up and how – well, there is only one way to find out.
the head well lost is available on Steam and itch.io, for $12.99, along with a free demo.
