1975. The Cold War is showing no signs of ending anytime soon. Unlike the lives of Farah and the rest of the small team of treasure hunters who got a bit too bold and now find themselves stuck in a time loop on the new frontier, Neoproxima.
Examine artefacts with 70s-era computers, explore ancient(?) ruins, and hopefully, eventually, the mystery of why mankind was given the power to travel the stars by an alien race will be solved. Oh, and the time loop just might end, too. Who knows, with this many questions and nowhere near enough information to answer any of them?
Neoproxima is a text-based adventure that uses a 3D isometric map and combines exploration and RPG mechanics like inventory management, text adventures, dice rolls, hit points, simple survival mechanics, and time-based puzzles.
But that’s where the magic of death and rebirth comes into play; by which I mean, the power of starting fresh each day, courtesy of being stuck in a time loop. Sure, it’s not without its fair share of problems, although at the same time, not without at least some usefulness. Much like that small truck and your friends.
Make the most of each loop, searching for clues and exploring, and… well, I’m sure you can guess the rest. Maybe. If not, at least time is most certainly on your side in Neoproxima.
Neoproxima is available on Steam for $12.99, while its soundtrack can be found here.
