Being doomed to an endless struggle doesn’t exactly sound like the most fun thing… unless it’s in a video game. Like, say, Rerun, in which the odds are rarely, if ever, in your favour, and the outcome will always be the same: your demise. But don’t let that tiny detail get in the way of your fun!
Not like you can simply memorize the layout, enemy spawns, or just about anything else, either, seeing how each playthrough starts with the generation of a randomly plotted-out dungeon map. Oh, but don’t worry – you aren’t simply at the mercy of a die roll. At least, not the entire time. Your path through the dungeon determines which upgrade(s), if any, a victory in each room shall bestow upon your mighty hero. That and your skill tree. You’re fully in control of that.
Using the environment to your advantage, position your chaotic adventurers to keep them safe and lure your foes into your devious traps that’ll send them flying into lava!
Ah, did I mention how Rerun is a turn-based, tile-based affair? The best kind, really, and with more than twenty adventurer combinations, and well over eighty wild upgrades, variety is undeniably part of the recipe for this mini roguelike. For those who actually want more randomness, well, say hi to Chad & Thad, two randomly generated adventurers, available in Daily Mode.
Now, off you go, mighty hero-slash-adventurer, for there are vile beasts to slay and a dungeon to conquer! Or die trying. A far more likely outcome.
Rerun is available on Steam, for $9.99.
