Pride Month! We’ve somehow reached June once more, which means it’s time for a month-long celebration of sexual diversity acceptance. Doesn’t matter if you identify as LGBTQ+ or not, unlike what some might have you believe. Support is support, no matter how small, and speaking of which: have you heard about Queer Games Bundle 2022? Maybe you have. Maybe you haven’t. It did just launch like, an hour ago, after all. Either way, time for a reminder and a quick what’s what!
So, first things first: unlike past game jams and bundles that revolved around LGBTQ+ content in one form or another, the Queer Games Bundle 2022 does things a bit differently in that the focus is actually on the developers instead of, you know, what they might have submitted. Even if a game does not contain queer content at all, as long as the developer identifies as such, you just might find it amongst the well over 500(!) items featured. Or not. Hard to say. There are just so many, and more than twice the amount over last year’s bundle, which is honestly mind-blowingly awesome. That also goes for the participants, as that number is well into the 400s. Goodness!
Help nurture our diverse queer arts community, fund the creation of the next great game you love, and find your new favorite game by purchasing the bundle today.
All that said, how about a few recommendations and/or highlights from Queer Games Bundle 2022? If you’re looking for old-west romance, how about paranoidhawk’s Lookouts? Perhaps outer space is more your locale? In that case, you can’t go wrong with Ace in Space from CadaverCarnivalStudios. Back on Earth, Finding Felicia from jessicameije is ready to take players on a trip around the Pacific Northwest. Undeniably groovy stuff in this bundle, and more importantly, queer dev support.
Queer Games Bundle 2022 will run the month of June (and some) with two price tiers: $60 and ‘Pay What You Can $10-$20+ sliding scale‘. Oh, and please help with getting the word out. Pretty… pretty… rainbows and unicorns, please? Happy Pride Month!
