Hours of Reveals and Updates Coming Your Way During ‘PLAYISM Game Show 2022’

Hours of Reveals and Updates Coming Your Way During ‘PLAYISM Game Show 2022’

A new year means new gaming events in the form of multi-title reveal streams… like, say, PLAYISM Game Show 2022, and this one’s actually right around the corner. Two hours of “world premieres of unannounced games and new information on previously-revealed titles releasing in 2022”. Groovy.

So, who is PLAYISM and what games can we expect to see during PLAYISM Game Show 2022, on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 2:00 am EDT on YouTube? I’m sure questions like those are on your mind right now. Well, unfortunately, I only have an answer for the former, so for the latter, you’ll just have to wait until the show airs.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support and patience our partners, sponsors and community have shown us in our decade-plus of operation,” said Shunji Mizutani, Executive Producer of PLAYISM.

PLAYISM is Japan’s oldest indie game publisher, and with titles like Bright Memory: Infinite, DEEEER Simulator, and Fight Crab, it’s safe to say they’re definitely not ignoring titles interested in straying from the norm. Which is a good thing. Sometimes. Time will tell how much variety this upcoming stream can cram into its two-hour runtime, although at least no one’s being left out as it’s set to air in English, Japanese and Chinese, on YouTube, Periscope, Niconico, and Bilibili. You have the link(s), you have the date – don’t miss it!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
