MAGS March is Looking Mighty “Uplifting”

MAGS March is Looking Mighty “Uplifting”

It’s time to “take flight on the wings of creativity” for MAGS March, as Stupot puts it over on the Adventure Game Studio forums! Just remember not to fly too close to the sun.

But as always, first things first: how about a glance at the game(s) from MAGS February? Oh, and be sure not to neglect or worse yet, forget about MAGS March either.

Police Quest IV SCI(ish) (ddavey1983)
Someone’s on a killing spree and it’s up to you to solve a string of seemingly random murders. Some clues may lead you to the killer. Some lead down blind alleys. You must find the killer before he strikes again. Play it by the book and you might just stay alive. Make a mistake and you could be the next victim.

Splendor Solis (demo) (tbook)
Poland after a nuclear catastrophe. You will play as three characters (only one in demo version), inhabitants of the Guild. The Guild, ruled by the Governor is falling apart. The Governor is sick and he brings his people down with him. This is not the only problem, as foreigners inflirtate and watch the Guild. You will need to uncover the secrets of the falling ruler as Raula, his woman. You will need to defend your people as Damian, Hyena, a scavenger, and last but not least you will need to battle cowardice and uncover the secret plans of the foreigners as Jacob, a Rat.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
