MAGS June is All About Those Special “Little-known traditions”

Traditions aren’t hard to come by. Everyone’s familiar with a least a few, I’d wager. But what about the… lesser-known ones? That’s the focus of this month’s MAGS (Monthly AGS) competition, so get to digging. Search the world – and your brain – for ideas. Ask your oldest relatives (and friends… and enemies)! The more obscure, the better, I say. Oh, and since you only have the month of June to do it, best get started – fire up Adventure Game Studio and get to work.

But… that’s MAGS June. What about MAGS May? It did give us no less than two new games after all, so what are you waiting for? It’s time to play some groovy free adventure games! (And don’t forget to vote.)

A Suspicious Date (Artium/Tuathlait/Durq)
This is a short game. One room only, under 10 minutes of game-play.

Cave of Avarice (Blondbraid, cat, and Slasher)
A former Dahomey Amazon turned mercenary has been hired by two explorers for leading them to a cave said to contain a great treasure. The mercenary has been tasked with guarding the entrance while the two explorers enter, but as gunshots are heard from within only to be followed by silence, the mercenary chooses to investigate…

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
