This is an undeniably cool initiative. Especially since, much like itch.io itself, this event is not limited to video games. What’s that, no one told you that itch.io also lets people sell other types of content, like, say, music, print-to-play tabletop games, and ebooks, to name but a few. For shame. You might do well to explore itch.io, come Creators Day.
So with 100% of revenue going to creators for a full 24 hours, now’s definitely not the worst time to host a sale. Actually, wait. Not now. Not yet. It doesn’t kick off until midnight on the 14th, ending at 11:59 p.m. PT. I know, time zones. No one likes them, but fortunately, websites exist to help ease the confusion.
While it’s always a good time to support creators on itch.io this Friday is going to be just a little more special.
As far as participation goes, well, it’s all automated – no need for you to change anything. Unless you feel like discounting one or more items. Just saying. Oh, and with a little luck, this won’t be the last Creators Day. The announcement did mention how they “hope to make this a regular event“, so… fingers crossed, ya know?
