Winter is coming, the days are getting shorter, and soon calendars everywhere will be turning to 2022. Not until IndieCade has celebrated no less than 48 indie games with demos, streams, and an awards ceremony, as part of this year’s Anywhere & Everywhere, though!
I do like a proper groovy online event that revolves entirely around indie games. If there are streaming and playable demos involved, all the better, which is exactly what we can look forward to here. With the likes of Jenny Windom (Kimchica) and Alistair Aitcheson (agAitcheson) hosting and/or streaming, a good time is just about guaranteed between October 22 and 24. Where? Ah, right here. But wait, there’s more…
Who doesn’t fancy an indie game-centric awards ceremony, complete with well over a handful of categories? Every last nominated game is eligible for an award, and you better believe there’s some groovy stuff in this particular lineup – even if some of them aren’t, well, out just yet. Minor detail. Figment 2: Creed Valley and Letters – a written adventure still look really cool and I’m sure they’ll be available sooner rather than later. Potentially picking up one or more awards at this year’s IndieCade Anywhere & Everywhere probably wouldn’t hurt as their respective creators pile on that final layer of polish.
That leaves just one thing: registration. Now, before you frown, clutching that fancy credit card tightly out of fear that it’ll be bled dry, worry not – it’s free (with optional donations). More like a formality, I suppose, and a way to make it feel like a proper event too… right? Right. Makes sense. Somewhat. Let’s go with that. Quick reminder, then: October 22, 23, and 24, 2021.
