You’d have to move rather quickly to outrun your future (wait, what?), and yet, Wanda – Don’t Starve Together‘s latest playable character – desires nothing more than to do exactly that. The Constant has other plans, however, and now the clock’s really ticking for the rapidly aging lady.
Confused? I’ll try my best to explain what’s happening with Wanda, and her strange… illness. See, all that time manipulation has done a number on her timeline, causing her to age noticeably faster than the other survivors. This particular mechanic isn’t simply a cosmetic aspect either, as instead of health, Wanda has age, and her ability to craft pocket watches just might tilt the odds ever so slightly in her favor.
Not only can these be utilized to manipulate her space in time, but her youth can also be restored using pocket watches, and when she’s not busy ripping holes through space and time with them, they do also serve the glorious purpose of bringing fallen survivors back. Back to a point in time before they, you know, perished. That’ll definitely come in handy – unless she herself ends up succumbing to old age prior.
Wanda has been trying to outrun her future for longer than she can remember – but after a split-second decision left her tangled up in the Constant’s timestream, it might be her past that’s finally catching up to her…
An interesting addition to say the least, and as always, there are multiple ways for which players to add her to their playable roster: Wanda Chest ($5.99), Wanda Deluxe Chest ($9.99), Starter Pack 2021 ($7.99), or alternatively, one could always weave her for 2700 spool. Weaving a time manipulating clock-maker into the world of Don’t Starve Together sounds like a recipe for trouble to me, but then again, that goes for just about everything in the game, and yet… I absolutely love it.
