‘Battle Brothers’ Aims to Expand Further With Free DLC ‘Of Flesh and Faith’

‘Battle Brothers’ Aims to Expand Further With Free DLC ‘Of Flesh and Faith’

When last we heard from Battle Brothers on the DLC front, it was for a trek through scorching heat in Blazing Deserts. But that was back in 2020, and while Overhype Studios are busy working on a brand new game, they’re not done with this one just yet: how about Of Flesh and Faith, a hefty chunk of free DLC?

How about Of Flesh and Faith indeed. In but a handful of weeks, on March 10th, 2022, Battle Brothers will be getting two new origins – the Oathtakers and the Anatomists – and apparently, they are “the most detailed origins in the game to date”. New banners, equipment, events (50+, in fact), and unique mechanics for each origin, means the fact that this DLC won’t have a price tag is, honestly, rather surprising. I doubt anyone’s actually going to complain about that though. I most certainly won’t.

Oathtakers – Follow the teachings of Young Anselm, fight for righteousness, and swear oaths that confer advantages and disadvantages until fulfilled.

Anatomists – Further your research even if they shun you for it, dissect the corpses of your fallen enemies, and devise new ways to empower your men.

Oh, and in case that’s not enough new, entirely free(!) content for ya, well, they also plan on releasing “a sizable update to existing content”, and on the same day no less. March 10. Mark those calendars. If you’re playing the PC version, anyway. Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch will, as always, be arriving fashionably late to the party.

More details will be available… real soon.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
