Grant Eternal Life to Coin-Op Games in ‘Arcade Tycoon’ While Filling Your Pockets

Ever dreamt of starting your own coin-up enterprise, cabinets all over the world with your name on them? Then perhaps Arcade Tycoon is just what the doctor ordered; a game which lets you build the arcade of your dreams, provided you’re able to stay out of the red. No one’s stopping you from paying for maintenance, staff, upgrades, etc. with quarters, however.

Ain’t all about the arcade machines either, because as I’m sure you’re already aware, people are generally easier to attract with, well, attractions and decorations. Then, while they’re checking out the scenery, eyes will start to wander a bit, and then they’ll notice the cabinets. Or hear them, the glorious sound of video games and cheerful players filling their ears as pockets are drained, one quarter at a time. Not a bad business to be in, I’d say.

In the game’s campaign, you’ll even get to build and manage arcades at a variety of locales, including massive shopping malls and even… a haunted hotel! Because even spirits like to play video games, I guess? Well, whatever the case, with more than five-hundred machines and items, variety will definitely be the spice of your arcades. Or something along those lines.

I suspect you won’t be able to fully witness the power of that many cabinets until you fire up the game’s sandbox mode though. Oh, and on top of the campaign and sandbox modes, there are also challenge levels, even difficulty levels. Becoming an Arcade Tycoon is going to be fun (or so I’m hoping, anyway).

Arcade Tycoon [Early Access] will be on Steam, come August 2019.

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
