London, 1907. Spiritualism has gripped the city, creating what can only be described as An English Haunting. Unless Professor Patrick Moore can prove the existence of the Great Beyond, and soon, there will be… trouble.
For his Metapsychic Investigations Department, that is. So, he does what anyone would, and enlists the aid of a fake medium to create an artefact that enables seeing hidden dimensions. Still with me? Head not spinning? Good, because mine certainly is, pixelated poltergeists, shady scientists, and so on.
Building this device will take him from the foggy streets of London to the steep shores of Scotland, and finally to 34 Benwell Street, known as the most haunted manor of England.
Putting that aside for a second, An English Haunting is very much a classic point ‘n click adventure, inventory puzzles and everything that entails. Oh, and Arthur Conan Doyle is in there. Somewhere.
As for what or who else might be… who’s to say, given that supernatural elements are not only the appetizer but also the main course and desert? Don’t believe in ghosts? You will. Oh, you will.
An English Haunting is available on Steam and itch.io, for $13.99.
