‘Spring 2022 Showcase’: Reveals, Updates, BTS With Publisher 505 Games

It’s (almost) time for another digital showcase, and this time we’re treated to a first-ever from popular publisher 505 Games! This one – aptly titled Spring 2022 Showcase – is set to feature unannounced titles, updates on forthcoming projects, and a glimpse behind-the-scenes in the form of “insightful developer interviews”. Sounds pretty groovy to me.

When? Ah, on May 17, 2022, at 2 pm BST / 6 am PST, hosted by MTV Presenter Patrice Bouédibéla on YouTube. Oh! That’s tomorrow today, depending on your time zone and/or when you’re reading this. Exciting! Excited? I certainly am. Don’t know about you. You should be though because if their publishing history is anything to go by, we’re in for quite a treat.

“As 505 continues to grow, it is important we keep shouting about the amazing developers we’re proud to work with, and the brilliant games they make,” said Neil Ralley, President of 505 Games

In case you’re on the fence, how about the fact that the stream will feature “a brand new reveal from a cult developer”. Cult developer. Wonder who that might be. Well, at least we won’t have to wait long to find out about that one and oh-so-many other titles. So… all aboard the hype train!

Whenever a big AAA title claims it'll "innovate with groundbreaking features", it usually turns out to be a snore-fest; one which simply mimics other games (poorly). This is where my interest indie game interest comes from: pick a random title from a pile of these, and chances are you’ll end up with something genuinely unique - often for well less than $60 too.
