In our world, clocks don’t melt to the rhythm of passing time, mushrooms aren’t giant and baobabs (a tree, essentially) don’t float. Nowhere. It simply isn’t a thing. But in My Brother Rabbit‘s imaginary world, created by the older brother of his ill sister, those and more can and will happen. Whether it’s enough for the siblings to stay strong – in the real world – until the medication needed becomes available… remains to be seen. This is undeniably the best kind of distraction during the wait, though.
That said, this world actually has its own troubles (wait, what?). Troubles in need of fixing. Troubles involving a little rabbit and his friend, a flower, who – believe it or not – is also ill. Did I mention how it’s a strange land? Because it really is, one full of wondrous objects and colourful areas. Oh, and even more peculiar creatures – like, say, snails with a giant eyeball on a stalk for a head. Not even joking.
Travel through the wondrous lands of a colorful universe where you must question everything you know about reality.
Who knows though, some of them might even help as you, the player, go about solving puzzles, finding hidden objects, tweaking, fixing, and assembling weird machinery in a world where logic simply isn’t a thing. Or at least, it’s different. Very different, although of course, one must remember that we are dealing with something created by the minds of children here, and as I’m sure you’re aware, such can be quite unique. In the best way. In the way only a kid could ever dream up, where adults would likely roll their eyes at the mere idea of such a world.
But for the siblings, it doubles as a way to cope when reality simply becomes too much. The fact that in this case, it has become a video game with an exciting (and surreal) adventure, well now that’s just a lovely bonus, really. Hopefully, there’ll be a happy ending for My Brother Rabbit, for not only the rabbit and his friend, the flower but also the sick child. Only one way to find out though, so… what are you waiting for?
My Brother Rabbit is available on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, GOG.com, Humble Store, and Mac Appstore.
