Back for a sec— wait, this is actually the third Yuri Jam? Crap. Missed one then. Huh. Well, anyway, it’s almost time to once more embrace relationships between women – in video game form! And I’m not talking about ‘besties’ here either. No, this is about the romantic aspect, involved parties being – as stated on the official site – “lesbian, bi, trans, non-binary, aro, ace, pan, any female-identified LGBTQIA characters”. What’s not to like?
I mean, you’re not forced in terms of genre, engine, art style, resolution or anything of the sort, really, so long as the above applies in some way. Visual novel? Point ‘n click? First-person shooter (no, seriously)? RPG? Dating sim (perhaps a bit too obvious)? All of the above mixed into one? Doesn’t matter. You’re in charge, so long as rule 2 (of 2, incidentally) isn’t broken: “Entries that promote bigotry (i.e. transphobic/racism) are not allowed.” Simple enough.
As for the jam itself, Yuri Game Jam 2017 (or Yuri Game Jam 3, I suppose) won’t ignore submissions of unfinished works/demos, so if you don’t manage to wrap everything up, no problem! Send it anyway. Oh, and if you’re a Twitter fan, be sure to use the hashtag #yurijam. I’m sure that one doesn’t require further explanation.
Last but not least, some pretty important info: dates. The jam spans the months of September and October, ending on the 31st of the latter, hopefully with a ton of interesting new games. Time will tell. Yes, time will indeed tell. As it’s been known to do…
