Following February’s beta release, the first iteration of Unity’s 2019 branch is upon us, and with it, a ton of goodies for developers new and old alike. H.265 video support, lighting improvements, native rendering plugin support for Vulkan, AxF Master Node, and many other groovy things.
How about the ability to “patch the app package instead of rebuilding it” on mobile? Anything to speed up development, and this will certainly do just that. Meanwhile, on a somewhat related note, AR Foundation brings LWRP support for AR and VR; for those crazy ‘real world’ experiences, ya know? UWP support for ARM64 devices also made the cut, alongside PhysX improvements and… actually, I’m just going to direct you to the blog post (and video below) instead of trying to make sense of all this tech stuff.
