Twine. I love Twine and the stories people have told with it over the years. Never did I imagine that they’d be the one thing to survive the upcoming digital apocalypse. Alas, such is the case, and because of that, a call to arms has been sent out in the hope of preserving critical information (aka. HOWTOs) by way of Twine games. Big or small, doesn’t matter. If it can teach the player how to do something, it has value.
Genre? Topic? Length? Story format? Twine version? Doesn’t matter. At all. There’s no rule demanding that entries are ‘educational’ either, so feel free to get creative, perhaps even a bit silly with the contents of whatever you end up making.
How to dance, how to argue, how to fall in love, how to tell a knock-knock joke — how to be human. We need it all!
Just head on over to the Twine website to get started, and be sure to check out the Twine Cookbook for tips and examples on how to get started with Twine. Even if you’re a seasoned user of the popular interactive fiction engine, eh, give it a glance still. A little tech reminder never hurt anyone.
