I want what Treasure Adventure World‘s protagonist has, and I’m not talking about the starring role in a game that looks absolutely incredible. Well, I wouldn’t mind that either, but… his magical shrinking boat! The things I could do, the places I would go, with such a trinket. My goodness. That said, since the odds of him handing it over are slim to none, guess we can at least help him search for a legendary treasure, and who knows what else.
On top of that rather fancy boat, it seems the creator of Treasure Adventure World has taken a liking to headgear, as hats will, well, ‘enhance’ the abilities of its star. Uncanny stuff, really. I’ll admit that certain hats look absolutely dashing, mixed with the right attire, but to actually bring potentially otherworldly stuff into the fray, simply by wearing one? Video games, man. Video games.
You’ll solve tricky puzzles, battle formidable foes, piece together clues and dig up secrets to uncover your own shrouded history as you explore the islands and seas of this sprawling open world.
Not that I’m complaining, mind you. It is, after all, a unique way of ‘powering up’, as it were, and something I’d wager will be used for more than one puzzle and/or boss battle, based on the trailer below. With more than a dozen islands to explore and a weather system that affects more than just visibility, kid’s bound to need something to tilt the odds in their favour. Maybe hats are it. Maybe they aren’t. Maybe… that… shrinking boat? I want it. Right now.
Treasure Adventure World is available on Steam, GOG.com, and Humble, at $9.99. Its soundtrack is available on Bandcamp, at $4.99.
