Ever go through a week’s worth of Steam additions, more than fifty of the sort in fact, only to find but a tiny handful that seemed interesting once trailers came into view (so to speak)? Because that certainly seems to be par for the course nowadays…
AER Memories of Old ($14.99)
Well, I’ve always wanted to fly like a bird – the fact that the game world is absolutely gorgeous, just begging to be explored, is simply a lovely bonus. Oh, and… something about saving reality?
Golden Krone Hotel ($9.99)
Isn’t it about time a good game with vampires saw the light of day (so to speak…)? I’d say so at least, and based on its trailer, this recently released roguelike might be one such. Even better: we actually get to play as a creature of the night, powered by the blood of our enemies! Delicious. So very delicious.
Icycle: On Thin Ice ($6.99)
Looks like there was no shortage of weirdness this week either. Rarely have I seen a runner more strange. Makes me wonder just what powers his bicycle, and perhaps more importantly, what his destination is. But also, why is he seemingly naked? Surely that must bring about plenty discomfort!
Don’t Make Love ($6.99)
Oh my. How’s this for a unique piece of interactive fiction about resisting temptation, at the fear of death? Yeah. My thoughts exactly. According to its creator, you don’t influence the story by simply picking the right choice from a list either, instead… writing your response/reaction during that very moment.
Rogue Quest: The Vault of the Lost Tyrant ($3.99)
Yay, a potentially awesome point ‘n click adventure this past week! Too rare if you ask me. Simply much too rare. Just like the treasure its protagonist is looking for. Treasure which, based on the trailer, may be her undoing. I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end though. Somehow. So onward… because fame and fortune awaits (maybe?)!
